Meet Bridget
Bridget Wall-Lennon
Bridget Wall-Lennon was elected to the Wake Forest Board of Commissioners in November 2017. Bridget has lived in the Raleigh/Wake Forest area for 18 years. She is originally from Charlotte and located to this area when she accepted a position in state government with the NC Department of Administration. She previously served as Assistant to the Secretary for HUB Outreach where she served for 14 years. She is responsible for setting up the Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB Office). In that role, she successfully advocated for the utilization of HUB firms in state government procurement and construction contracting.
When Bridget left state government in 2013; she started her own consulting business – BLWall Consulting. The firm specializes in public policy, business and economic development; and program development and management. Bridget has been involved with minority business development for over 25 years. Her professional career also includes serving as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education’s first Minority and Women Business Program Administrator from 1993 to 1999. Prior to that position, she worked with the Charlotte Minority Business Development Center, which was funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, as its Construction Coordinator/Business Analyst.
In 2001, Bridget was honored as the National Minority Business Advocate of the Year, by the U.S. Department of Commerce/Minority Business Development Agency during the 19th Annual Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Conference in Washington, D.C. She also received the Atlanta Regional Minority Business Advocate of the Year Award, as well as the local award from the Raleigh/Durham Minority Business Development Center. In 2010, Wall-Lennon was named Vice-Chair of the newly established National Association of State Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (M/W/DBE) Directors.
Bridget is a third generation entrepreneur, brings a passionate understanding of challenges that minority, women and small business owners face. She received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina A & T State University.
Bridget has served as vice-president and legislative chairperson of the N.C. M/WBE Coordinators’ Network. Other professional organizational affiliations include past secretary of the Carolinas Minority Suppliers Development Council Board of Directors and chairwoman of the Piedmont Regional Advisory Board of Carolinas MSDC. She is a past president of the Knightdale-Wake Forest Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and was instrumental in establishing a Girl Scout Troop, in affiliation with her Chapter, in which she served as the Troop Leader.
